REACH Statement
Regulation (EEC) No 1907/2006 - REACH
As you are probably aware, Regulation (EEC) No 1907/2006 concerning the registration, evaluation, authorisation and restriction of chemicals (REACH) came into force June 1st 2007. The REACH regulation covers chemical substances manufactured in, or imported into the EU.
The inks and coatings produced by Paragon Inks are classified as preparations. This means that they contain a mixture of chemical substances. As such, all our products are exempt from the registration requirement under REACH. This classifies our business as a downstream user.
We are however working closely with our raw material suppliers to ensure that all the chemical substances used in our inks and coatings are compliant with the regulations. To date all of our suppliers have confirmed that they have pre-registered all the products that we purchase from them. There is a chance that over the next 10 years some minor products may be withdrawn rather than be registered but we have been assured that we will be given advance notice of any such event. This should give us sufficient time to source alternative raw materials or develop new products.
As a downstream user we are obliged to provide our raw material suppliers with information on where their chemical substances are used. We have contacted all our suppliers with the necessary information based on the guidelines that CEPE have released for inks and coatings, see link below. The feedback so far is that we have provided what is required and if the raw material suppliers need further information they will contact us.

The ECHA has published a revised list of candidate materials to be included in Annex XIV of REACH as SVHC’s (Substances of Very High Concern) in November 2008, this was updated on 18th June 2010.

We can confirm that none of these substances are intentionally added to the products that Paragon Inks manufactures. We can also confirm that these chemicals are not knowingly used in our plant and therefore cross contamination is not possible.
Paragon Inks is committed to meeting the requirements of all chemicals regulations. We strive to work with our customers and suppliers to ensure continuity of product and supply on a global basis.
We aim to update you with any changes and possible impact on the products you purchase from Paragon Inks.
Please contact us if you require any further information regarding REACH.
